Packin' up

After a week long of boxing up our things, this is the result of our apartment. My mom came down for the week to help out and OH what a help she was for us!! Thank you Mom!!! We couldn't have done it with out you!

I think Nate got a little dizzy trying to wrap our boxes up with the industrial wrap. haha!

Christi and Hilary both work at Cornerstone Family Health with me. It was Hilary's birthday and Christi had us over for dinner. I just love these girls!

Forbes visit!

We had Nate's parents for a visit at the beginning of April. It was their spring break and one of our last weekends here in PA. They took us to a Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant where we ate more food than at Thanksgiving! The restaurant seats everyone "family style" meaning you eat your meal with strangers at the same table. We met a family from Rhode Island and another couple from Baltimore.
The picture above is of the quilt museum in one of the Amish towns. Dad Forbes and Nate are designing their own quilt using blocks!!

Nate's Baptism

This last Sunday was our baptismal service at church. Nate was baptised at age 7, but since then has come to understanding the purpose of baptism far more. When this opportunity came up, he knew it was what he wanted to do, so here are some pictures of him, our friend Emily (also a friend from LBC) and one of our youth kids Scott. There were so many LBC grads who came for this service including Matt and Caroline Glidden from Alabama. Also my mom happened to be there due to the timing of our move and her helping us with all of that.
I did record Nate giving his testimony, but unfortunately our silly camera doesn't have excellent sound on it!
In short, Nate gave testimony to how he had made a decision to at the age of 5 to "become a Christian" but it wasn't until he was older that he fully came to a real understanding of what Christ did for each one of us. This baptism is an act of that understanding and an act of obedience that we were once dead in sin, but once Christ died on the cross for our sin it freed us of the eternal bondage we would have had. And now with our faith in Christ we are free of that sin and have a hope that we will be with Christ for eternity. We were once dead to sin, but now alive in Christ. It was great to have so many people there to support Nate and to celebrate in this decision.

back to the Left Coast

Tis the season for yard sales, packing and long road trips once again! Nate and I have been blessed with the opportunity to get back into camping ministry in Oregon. Nate has been really looking into getting back into this for a while now and this opportunity came up to interview for this job. He flew out there to check it out and meet the staff and now here we are a few days later making traveling arrangements. Tilikum is the name of the camp we are moving to. It's owned by George Fox University, the school I graduated from in Oregon. This camp is a bit smaller than the others we have worked at, but what a beautiful place it is!
Being that the camp is connected to the University, Nate will be able to take some free classes there if he would like. There are quite a few perks for him in this job. Also it will be nice to be closer to family.
Please be in prayer for us as we are going to be transitioning quickly once again. We just accepted the job this week and of course we need to be out there as soon as possible. Our departure date is set for May 1, 2007. And we are hoping to take a similiar road trip route to the one we took on the way out here last July. Hopefully that will put us at an arrival date of May 9th into Oregon.
Allow me to save you time in calculating the days on your calender, that puts us at a 2 week notice time for moving and making arrangements to move back and an additional week to drive. Not an impossible feet. This can be done and will be done. The Lord has provided housing for us in the past and we are now being provided a job ahead of time, so this is ahead of the game!

We will be sad to leave our charming little town of Lititz. We have come to know and love the people out here. Our youth group especially will be hard to leave. They are a fun bunch of people! And we have loved the church we are a part of. It seems irreplaceable.
My job has been a great support for me and a huge encouragement. I never knew I would ever be doing anything in the health field and I have come to enjoy it so much! Cornerstone especially is a special find! I feel so blessed to have been able to work there.

We trust the Lord will continue to provide for our needs and that He will take care of us in Oregon as He has done here as well.
