a new arrangement

We took the Forbes' to Tilikum and walked around. We picked these flowers along the way. Beautiful!

Nate was motivated to move the desk into another room so I would have a craft table. Now my sewing machine has a home.

We rearranged a few of the other tables and the pantry to hopefully make room for a new dishwasher. =)

The Forbes' relaxing in our living room!

And ta da! The desk in it's new home. Thanks to Rick and Nate for muscling it around the house to get it through the front door. It's VERY heavy!!!

Mom, you would be proud

I made a little green house for our Dahlias!

They should be coming up in a few months....hopefully this works!

Forbes in town!

This morning Nate and I ran to the airport to pick up Nate's parents. They flew in early this morning...which means it was a LONG day for them. They were troopers staying up as late as they could to help adjust to the time change.
We drove them home, had a lunch and chatted for a while. It was nice out, so we all walked down to the local outdoor produce market and bought a few things for the week. All along the way they were admiring all the flowers that were in full bloom. I'm hoping to take them to the tulip festival sometime this week. It is supposed to rain the rest of the week, but maybe we will catch a break in the clouds to head out there.

After dinner we headed out to Tilikum to walk around the property. It's been such a nice day out there! I'm glad we did that.

It's good to have them here visiting. I'll try to post pictures of our adventures later on.

Halloween costume!

Thanks to our friends, Rick and Christine, for our daughters first Halloween costume!! Isn't it cute? It has a tail and a little hat with ears. =)

a walk around the neighborhood

These are a few of the sights we passed by on our walk tonight. The air smells so sweet from the blossoming trees and flowers!

Spring is definitely here! Today it was about 70 degrees outside. I was parched from being outside for so long. That has not happened in a long time.

Enjoy the good weather!

It just dawned on me this month that my 10 year high school reunion will be this summer. Wow, those years went by quickly!

What did your class do for your reunion?

fact or myth?

rule #1: you are not allowed to google the answer. Just answer how you were taught/experienced.

Scenario: If you have a broken light bulb in a socket. What is the best way of removing it safely?

any suggestions? We have a broken light bulb in a socket.....and yes, we've googled it... there seems to be a mixed review of facts/myths.

If you have experienced this first hand, please let us know how you went about fixing it.

thanks!

Weekend!

Yesterday Nate surprised me by coming home early!! We both took one look at the very full kitchen sink and did the *responsible* thing.... Got in the car and headed to the nearest restaurant for dinner!

A lady I work with has a book about all the happy hour places in our area. They are rated on various topics. We decided to try the happy hour at macaroni grill. It was pretty good. I liked that I could order my decaf coffee and get the same deals.:) I'm all about cheaper meals and great atmosphere!!

It's been a long week. We're looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to make German pancakes with raspberries!!! Yum!

Have a nice weekend:)

Interview season!

Tis the season for many interviews via Nate. He will be interviewing about 30 students just this week alone for the summer staff jobs! We're praying for a good staff this summer as it will be a very busy time for our family. Right now things are looking great!

Nate comes home in a fog from talking with so many people, but he's encouraged by the quality of applicants. I guess that will make the decisions more difficult, but that's a good problem to have.

If you know of any kids who want to go to a day camp this summer the registration has opened at Tilikum already: camptilikum.org

Prepare for a summer of fun!!!  (Missy, this picture is for you)

To answer some questions on couponing.

Here are some videos that might get you excited about couponing:

Here are some blogs we use. You may find some of your own as well:

5 month picture

Here's a recent picture of my belly.

We had our 5 month apt. today. Our little girl seems to be doing very well. I'm just now starting to feel her wiggle around a little bit. Nate even felt her the other day. She's not super active during the day, mostly after I eat and late at night. I wonder if that means she will be a night owl? That will make 2 in the family. =)

I do still have a cyst on my left ovary, but the doctor is not concerned about it. She said it's probably going to go away. We will do another sonogram later on to see how it's doing.

I'm feeling more energetic and eager to go outside!! The weather has been just terrific these past few weeks. I love the smells of spring and freshly cut lawns. Nate and I are trying to go on walks every night. He has a pulled muscle that is keeping him from walking too long, but he still enjoys getting outside, as always.

That's the update!

Diapers on sale!!!

We don't have our baby yet, but we are on " baby supply watch" as we breeze through the stores. I'm just now starting to understand what a deal is on diapers....

Well, I think we might have hit a jackpot last night at Walgreens.
I was checking on one of our regular coupon blogs yesterday and the first posting I saw was about diapers #48 for only $2.19!
Instantly I grabbed my slippers, purse and jacket and drove down to walgreens. Fortunately they still had a supply of these sale items. I ended up buying 184 diapers for $8.76!!! I think that's a good deal???

Coast!!

I'm pretty tired today. This last weekend was full of fun events ( a wedding, a basketball game) and running errands.

We have been getting ready to go to the coast for a camp conference. The house is clean, taxes paid, groceries stocked.... I'm tuckered out!

Yesterday I took a " short" nap. It ended up being a hour 1/2. I woke up to Nate nudging my shoulder. He was trying to get me up for worship at the common house. It took me about 15 minutes to understand what was happening. Naps in the middle of the day are sometimes a twilight zone experience!

Well off to the coast we go!
