Today we found out that our closing date will be extended 2 more weeks. Boo!
That just makes our 60 days notice more like 15 days.... it will be a very quick turn around to get that house ready to move in and clean this house before we have to leave.
And it's all in happening during Nate's busy season. Oh bother!
In other news....how about that Royal Wedding huh? =)

anxiously waiting...
Here are some pictures of our rental house (outside and from the living room):

We were originally scheduled to close on our house yesterday, but because the owners are on vacation it got rescheduled. Now we are *patiently* awaiting their return and hopefully signing papers next week. A date hasn't been set yet, but we are thinking either Monday or Tuesday of next week will be the close date (hoping!).
Now I'm so glad we didn't put in our 30 day notice at our rental...we gave 60 day notice just to give us a buffer to move with a little baby. We are quickly encroaching on 30 days right now... Had we only given 30 days we would be out on the streets this weekend with a whole lot of stuff piled high on the sidewalk! What a sight!
I know there are a lot of things I can be doing now to get ready to move...but at the same time a lot of it hinges on getting the keys to the house. We're just going about our regular day-to-day routines this week. And it almost doesn't feel like buying a house is real yet. I'm not fully committed to being excited about it until we actually have keys in our hands. So stay tuned for some excitement.
We have been working on the yard at our rental. With all the rain we've had this week it makes it tricky to find a chunk of time to get things done out there. I'm hoping to leave this house looking great. It's been a wonderful rental and we are going to be sad to leave it. Our landlords are great. I think we only chatted with them a handful of times, but each time they were very easy to get along with. They are an older couple from out of town and I'm not sure how many rental properties they own, but they have basically been very hands-off landlords. In some ways this home as felt like our own because of that. Nate always took care of the gutters, roof, lawn care, fixes around the house. I cleaned the inside and did some trimming of the hedges, weeding, lawn mowing etc..
It will be a great rental for another young couple.

Back at it
I've been waiting until April 19 to start back up with my eBay selling. I posted several things last night and have many more items ready to post. It feels good to sell again. I kind of missed it these last 2 months.
eBay has recently changed their rate policy to include shipping costs into the total sale value .... Which for me and my heavy shipments means they are getting a bigger cut in my earnings, but I still need them for selling exposure.

Zoo
Here are some pictures from our zoo day with my mom. It was her birthday trip and she had many surprises...first Nate took the day off to come with us. Then my dad gave her the gift of taking the day off too. That was a huge gift from him as this is his busy time of the year. Finally my sister from NYC flew in to surprise her too! The whole fam was there to celebrate her birthday. Fun times!

Shredding
I've had a big box of sensitive information in our office for over a year now, but am finally getting around to shredding it. Charlotte wasn't sure about the shredder at first...she had to sit in my lap while I fed the machine yummy paper. After a while she thought this was hilarious! And she wanted to eat the paper too. =) Charlotte is almost just as effective as the shredder. =) Why have I waited this long to discover that....
in other news...the progress on the house seems to be going well. We are just waiting on a few more details to go through. I'm pretty excited about it and really just can't wait until this process is complete. Right now I'm making lists...moving list, to buy, to do, to pack....to call...etc..
We have a friend who lost their house in the eleventh hour (not sure what the means exactly...house lingo that I'm still learning) so I'm not totally putting my enthusiasm out there just in case something like that happens to us too. But I will say that I've already got the bathroom decorated in my head and it looks fabulous! You can stop by to use our new bathroom if you happen to be on our street. =) ha ha!!

milestones
blog update...it's been a while since we've had time to do this. I don't even know where to begin, but I guess I'll start with C.
She is my little shadow these days. There is no place she cannot crawl or wiggle her way into now. I'm finding her tangled up between the chairs in the dining room trying to get to a stray toy. She likes to follow me like a little puppy. It doesn't matter if I'm putting clothes away and buzzing from room to room, she's right under foot trying to follow me around. Very cute!
She is also making more and more little noises that are starting to sound a little more recognizable. "Mama" is a common one. And that usually does mean me.
No teeth yet....she's almost 9 months and we're just waiting for the day for her pearly whites to show through.
In other news, Nate will be turning the big 30 tomorrow! Quite the milestone. I think he is excited for this one. Usually we're not big on ages, but this is a good age and one to really celebrate!
Also, we have taken up the sport of house hunting. We put an offer on a cute little home just north of us. They accepted our offer and we are now going through the house inspection etc.. stage. If all pans out, we will be closing at the end of April. Our first home purchase as a married couple is another big milestone. We feel blessed that this is something we can do. We will post more about it if it comes through.
that's about it folks!
