The holiday bliss!
December has been full of festivities, family, FOOD, and christmas music.
My parents where here for the past 10 days celebrating the hoidays with Nate and I and my sister and brother-in-law Leo. I just dropped them off at the train station a few minutes ago. They're on their way back to Oregon.
We decided they took almost every kind of transportation to get here: car, train, plane, subway, ferry and walking.
NYC had a lot to offer for the holidays! As usual there wasn't an empty spot on the sidewalks or streets. Lights lined the tall buildings, music filled the streets, honking and vendors sales pitches filled in the silences. We enjoyed seeing some great shows put on by the Rockettes and Santa himself! My parents and Carm and Leo took it one step further and saw Lion King on Broadway! The girraffs on wooden stilts were a hit! Flavors of fine foods in NYC were enjoyed by all! It was nice to have some down time with the family and catch up with everyone in the evenings. My mom is getting to be a pro at the subway hopping on and off really quickly! We all packed light for the weekend as we knew there would be 6 of us in a studio apartment. It worked out really well! We took over the whole floor space with beds! In the daytime we would stack them on top of each other so we were able to walk around. It was a good bonding time and full of great memories!
Unfortunately our batteries died in the camera, so you will have to check out my parents site or Carmen and Leo's sites for the visual version of the trip.
I hope you all had a great holiday! Happy New Year!
